Remembering Miles L. Carpenter: A Life Well-Lived (2026)

We are heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Miles Ludlow Carpenter, a beloved father and husband, who left us on January 7, 2026. His life, though now ended, was a rich tapestry of experiences and love.

Miles, born in Oakville, NB, and raised in Marysville, was a man of many talents and passions. After graduating from FHS, he ventured to the University of South Florida, where he earned his BBA. Upon returning to Fredericton, he embarked on a fulfilling career with the provincial government.

But here's where it gets truly special: in 1972, Miles met the love of his life, Fernande (Robichaud) Carpenter. Their first date led to a lifetime of happiness, and they spent 48 wonderful years together until Fernande's passing five years ago. Their lives were intertwined with volunteering, church, and community service, a testament to their generous spirits.

Dad's involvement extended beyond his career. He was an active member of Scouting and the Knights of Columbus, and his dedication continued into various committees and organizations. Upon retirement, he established a consulting company, allowing him more time to pursue his passions, including genealogy. Miles delved deep into the Carpenter family tree, writing two books and organizing family reunions, ensuring the legacy of his family name.

His hobbies were diverse: gardening, fishing, hunting, reading, and woodworking. But above all, Miles cherished spending time with his family, especially his beloved wife and his grandsons.

Miles is survived by his loving children, Michelle (Brent) Dore and Jamie (Jennifer) Carpenter, and his grandsons, Jake Dore (Alyssa) and Riley Dore (Robyn). His great-granddaughters, Oaklynn, Vallie, and Daphne, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, will forever carry his memory.

In addition to his parents and wife, Miles was predeceased by his brothers, Johnny, Murray, and Terry, and Fernande's parents, Onesime and Gertrude Robichaud, along with many brothers and sisters-in-law.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 1-4 PM at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Rd. A Funeral Mass will be conducted on Monday, January 12, at 11 AM, at Holy Family Parish Church, 1500 Hanwell Road, with Father Bill Brennan officiating. A private family burial will follow at a later date.

We extend our gratitude to the staff at Dixon, York Care, for their care and support over the past three years.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice, a fitting tribute to Miles' generous nature.

May his memory be a blessing and a source of comfort to all who loved him.
