A massive power outage has left thousands of homes in Cornwall in the dark, and the situation is more complex than it seems.
The power cut, affecting postcodes TR14, TR15, and TR16, was reported at around 5:03 pm on Saturday, January 31. National Grid has identified the issue as a fault on the high-voltage power lines above ground in the area.
According to National Grid's website, engineers are working to restore power as quickly as possible. However, they've provided an estimated time of 12 am on Sunday, February 26, for the last property to be reconnected. That's a long time without electricity!
But here's where it gets controversial: at the time of writing (8:50 pm on January 31), only 3,519 properties had their power restored, while 1,360 were still without supply. So, the estimated time for full restoration seems rather optimistic.
And this is the part most people miss: National Grid mentions that the estimated times might change if they face unexpected challenges. So, the situation could get even more delayed.

So, what do you think? Is National Grid being transparent enough about the power cut and its estimated restoration time? We'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences in the comments below!
